Late Evening Festival Rain

Rain on the pavement, drops on the bricks,
Starshine streetlight doubling,
Joyous giggle, drunken laugh,
Warm light and conversation from the porches,
Empty garage filled with hip-hop,
Quiet between houses, and
my dog’s footsteps.
